| Guidelines for Submitting Articles and/or Photos and Graphics Wilderness Way is always looking for new and interesting articles, photographs, and original artwork. You do not need to be a professor to submit information; credentials are not necessary. If it would be of interest to our readers, we want it! For "how-to" information we ask that you be detailed and clear. If you would like the opportunity to share your knowledge, opinions, ideas, and experiences with us and the rest of our readers, please send us your materials! We can not promise the exact issue that you article will be printed in, so please be patient with us. If you have any questions about whether your article, photos, or drawings are in an acceptable format to place in the magazine contact: gibbsdesigns@yahoo.com ARTICLES: We accept articles either typed, or on a disk. The disk may be a floppy, zip, or on a CD Rom-- either PC or Mac formatted. Your text will be edited, and the grammar and punctuation corrected. If you use a computer to write your article, please include the file on disk. Do not use Microsoft Publisher or any other small text program as they are not compatible with the major design programs. If you use Microsoft Word to type your article, we will need the photos or drawings separately, as they do not exist and can not be seperated from Word. Send in your drawings and photos with your article. DRAWINGS: Your drawings or illustrations do not have to be perfect, and if necessary, we will have them redrawn. Let us know the artist, so that we may give them credit for their work. We prefer drawings to have a "natural" style rather than a modern look. If you redraw illustrations from a copyrighted source, please include a credit reference to that source. If you use a computer to draw your illustrations, please include the file on a disk in a tif, jpeg, or gif format only. PHOTOS: We will accept any Origial photograph, but we prefer 4 x 6 prints with glossy finish. Try to take photos that will be clear, focused and bright. Dark and blurry images do not print well. What you send is the way it will look in the magazine. Do not send photos that have been printed from your computer to a printer. REMEMBER, WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOGRAPH IS THE WAY IT WILL BE PRINTED. COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL: If you want to use articles, drawings, or photos from a copyrighted source (most books are copyrighted), you must first get permission from the publisher to reproduce their material. If necessary, contact us for information about Wilderness Way's printing and distribution. |
